Grind & Polish is when the concrete is ground to the expected aggregate exposure level (little to no aggregate, salt & pepper or full aggregate exposure). A Lithium based concrete densifier is applied to the surface which reacts with the cement in the concrete, this hardens the surface allowing the floor to be polished. The concrete is then polished to the desired sheen level. Penetrating guard is then applied to protect the surface from stains.
Resin polish the finished floor with very little to no sand & aggregate exposure, we polish up to clients desired sheen level, matte, semi-gloss or glossy finish.
To obtain the generally accepted result, the floor to be polished must be placed well, any areas of undulations or surface defects, float or screed marks etc will remain and occasionally enhanced, sometimes uneven levels will result in patches of exposed stone in the finish.
Light grind to expose minimal amount of sands and aggregates, we then polish up to clients desired sheen level, matte, semi-gloss or glossy finish.

Heavy grind exposing all of the larger aggregates in the floor, we grout boost to fill the small aeration voids then polish up to clients desired sheen level, matte, semi-gloss or glossy finish.
This heavy grind generally removes most surface imperfections and any rain damage from the floor placing, but care still needs to be taken to minimise aggregate disturbance cause by settlement of screeds or footprints.
